On this day; you will be heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Some scientists claim that it is the world’s eighth wonder. However, this has not yet been established. You will be the judges!  Today, you will leave with a packed lunch and have your breakfast around 0800 hrs. Ngorongoro is a Maasai word that means ‘Black Hole’ which actually symbolizes the crater formation that looks like a hole when viewed from above.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area covers an area of about 260 square kilometers. You will explore Africa’s ‘Garden of Eden’ in the comfort of your safari vehicle and get to spot the Big five – the elephant, the buffalo, the leopard, the black mane lion and the rare black rhino. You will also be able to see hyenas, jackals, flamingos and the yawning hippos. You will then descend into the crater which is filled with vegetation, forestry and animals. The crater was formed by volcanic activities in the past that caused the creation of a caldera. The caldera got deeper and bigger  and has a depth of about 610 meters. You will also enjoy a delightful picnic lunch in the heart of this ancient volcanic crater close to the hippo pool after a game drive. You will then head back to Gibbs Farm Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
