Your initial morning in Tarangire National Park presents an exceptional opportunity for elephant enthusiasts. Known as the “home of elephants,” Tarangire is renowned for its substantial elephant herds. The park derives its name from the Tarangire River, which traverses its way through the park.

Tarangire is a vast wildlife reserve that boasts of  nearly all of the big five animals, with the exception of the rhinoceros. The park is abundant in flora and fauna, and the Tara River serves as a vital water source for the park’s diverse animal population. Tarangire National Park is a popular destination for observing elephants, as well as other wildlife such as lions, wildebeests, buffalos, zebras, and leopards. The park spans an area of 2,850 km² and is home to ancient baobab trees that have stood for many years.
