Welcome to Tanzania! Prideland Safari welcomes you to the beautiful land of Kilimanjaro. You will arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, and proceed to the Immigration desk for a VISA Stamp. Your safari guide will be waiting for you with a banner that has your name on it at the Arrivals zone. After everyone and everything is settled; you will begin your journey to Kahawa House.
Kahawa house is an ideally beautiful place to begin your experience in Tanzania. It is located in Arusha, which is the starting point of safaris and a hidden oasis that attracts style and elegance. The lodge will be a perfect place for you to refresh and relax as you get rid of the jet lag from the long journey. You will spend your day exploring different parts of the lodge, dipping in for a swim or even opting for a massage that will leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed! You will then have dinner and call it a day.
This will most likely be a pole pole day. A slow day. Due to the jetlag, we want you to have enough time to sleep and have breakfast. You will leave around 1000hrs and head to Lake Eyasi. Lake Eyasi is a rift valley lake which is known for having hippos who like to cool off during the hot seasonal periods. Your driver will then pick you up from your accommodation and you will begin your safari.
Along the way, you will get to see a beautiful landscape and vegetative covers. Tanzania is a beautiful country to drive in, mostly because with every turn, you will see breathtaking landscapes and views. The drive to your destination takes about 2 hours and your first stop will be Kisima Ngenda. Kisima Ngenda, one of the Entara Lodges, overlooks the beautiful lake Eyasi and has an amazing sunset. You will check in and have a hot lunch that will consist of a variety of cuisines rooted inTanzanian culture. Afterwards, you will interact with the Dagota tribe, the Dagota are from a long ancestral line of blacksmiths. It will be another surreal experience as you will learn about how these communities can exist without a worry in the world; inspite, of all the technological changes taking place. You will then head back towards your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay. You will then enjoy the evening as you prepare for the following day’s activities.
By this time, we hope that you are enjoying and basking in these adventurous moments.On this day, you will have breakfast around 0800 hrs and then head to Lake Eyasi for a game drive and cultural tour. Your driver will make sure you have lunchboxes for the picnic lunch that you will have by the lake later on that day.
Lake Eyasi is known for having hundreds of bird species including pelicans and flamingos. It is a bird watcher’s paradise on a cool day as you can see different birds by the shore. However, there is not a lot of game compared to other different regions in the Northern circuit. Hence, you might not see the Big Five animals here. On your first stop, you will be visiting the Hadzabe tribe or the Hadza of Tanzania. This is one of the last indigenous tribes of Tanzania and they are unique because they live like their ancestors who hunted and gathered food. They are nomads, meaning that they migrate and move around throughout different seasons of the year. This experience will help you to understand what their typical life looks like.
You will then have a picnic lunch and head towards Ngorongoro Crater where you will be spending the night at Lion’s paw, an accommodation that will blow your mind!It allows the delicate existence of wildlife and humans. You will end the evening by recharging and refreshing and reflecting on what you have seen throughout the day!
Today, you will be heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Some scientists argue that it’s the 8th wonder of the world. However,this has not yet been established. You will be the judges! . On this day; you will leave with packed lunch and have your breakfast at around 0800 hrs. Ngorongoro is a Maasai word that means ‘Black Hole’ which actually symbolizes the crater formation that looks like a hole when viewed from above.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area covers an area of about 260 square kilometers. You will get to explore Africa’s ‘Garden of Eden’ in the comfort of your safari vehicle and spot the Big Five – the elephant, the buffalo, the leopard, the black mane lion and the rare black rhino. You will also be able to see hyenas, jackals, flamingos and the yawning hippos. You will then descend into the crater which is filled with both vegetation, forestry and animals. The crater was formed by volcanic activities in the past that caused the creation of a caldera. The caldera got deeper and bigger and has a depth of about 610 meters. You will also enjoy a delightful picnic lunch in the heart of this ancient volcanic crater close to the hippo pool after the game drive. You will then start heading towards the great Serengeti for your accommodation. This day might be a bit exhausting but it will all be worth it!
In the evening, you will head back to Lion’s Paw for dinner and your overnight stay. Lion’s Paw offers a beautiful view of Lake Magadi and maximizes your experience in Ngorongoro. You will enjoy this amazing place for one last night before heading out to the great plains of the Serengeti!
You might have heard of the Serengeti in Tanzania and today you will get to experience it! . ‘Serengeti’ is a Maasai word that means ‘Endless Plain’ as it represents a vast plain that goes on and on towards the horizon. It is about 14,763 square kilometers and consists of three parts; The Northern, Southern and Central (Seronera) parts. Serengeti is known for the existence of The Circle of Life as demonstrated by The Great Migration. You will then leave the Lion’s Paw with lunch boxes and head over to the Serengeti plains for a game drive.
In the central part of Serengeti, you will enjoy the best experience as it is the heart of the Serengeti plains. It is famous for the great wildebeest crossing every year whereby wildebeests move from the Maasai Mara game Reserve in Kenya to Serengeti through the Mara River in the months of September to January or early February.
If you are interested in seeing big cats; then the Central Serengeti is the place for you. It is filled kopjes and rocky surfaces;therefore, it is a resting place for the predators. The Seronera is also a good place to get on a Hot Air Balloon and experience the African sunrise as the animals co-exist in the horizon. You will experience a ‘Lion King’ moment as you take in this unforgettable view!
You will be staying in Sametu where you will have access to a beautiful view of the Seronera plains. Enjoy the day in the beautiful plains, and then recharge and recenter in the beautiful Sametu Lodge, as you enjoy dinner and overnight stay!
