You will arrive at Arusha airport from Zanzibar, you will choose a flight that arrives in Arusha around 0800am. You will then meet your safari guide who will have your packed lunch. You will then head to Tarangire National Park for a game drive. This park is named after the Tara River that flows within the park. The Tara River provides the water for the animals and plants. Tarangire National Park is very popular and it has many elephants, as well as other animals such as lions, wildebeests, buffalos, zebras, leopards etc. This park has an area of about 2,850 km². Tarangire National Park also has very large baobab trees that have been there for many years.
During the lunch hours, you will enjoy the packed lunch as you sit down for a picnic lunch inside the park. Thereafter, in the evening, you will drive to Lake Pamoja Olea Farm in Karatu for dinner and your overnight stay.
The drive from your lodge to the Ngorongoro gate will be about 20 minutes. Your stay at Karatu will prepare you for the game drive through Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is known as the 8th wonder of the world, it is known for its exquisite beauty. The animals here are often active in the early morning; thus, an early morning drive is highly recommended. Depending on what you and the safari guide decide; you could have breakfast at the camp and carry packed lunches. You could also decide to pack both meals . On this day, you will descend into the crater which is filled with both vegetation, forestry and animals. The crater was formed by volcanic activities in the past that caused the creation of a caldera. The caldera got deeper and bigger and has a a depth of about 610 meters.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area covers an area of about 260 square kilometers. You will get to explore Africa’s ‘Garden of Eden’ in the comfort of your safari vehicle and spot the Big Five – the elephant, the buffalo, the leopard, the black mane lion and the rare black rhino. You will also be able to see hyenas, jackals, flamingos and the yawning hippos. Enjoy a delightful picnic lunch in the heart of this ancient volcanic crater close to the hippo pool!
In the evening, you will drive back to Arusha for dinner and your overnight stay at Haradali Home.
After a memorable stay in the Northern circuit, it is finally time for you to go back home and reminisce on the beautiful experience you’ve had. On this day, you will have breakfast whenever you choose and start driving back to Arusha. You will then head to the airport for your departure flight.
